and halfway to achieve our goal of finishing in the top 4.
We didn't win the 'on top at Christmas' trophy. That was won
by our neighbours whose fans wrote countless articles on it,but look
where they lie now,5th and again BELOW us in the league.
It took a while to claw back the 6 point start they gained on us,
16 games in fact, but normal service has been resumed.
Let us hope Bill finds a few pennies in the back of his sofa and gets
a couple of quality players in to further help us in our quest for a place
in the top 4.
Half way through the season

Cruciate ligament.
Lucky to get a game before the end of the season. Just like Kone.

Barry took a pay cut as City are subsidising the rest as they are doing still with Adebayor for us.
Barry will have to take a pay cut,I can't see any team paying the wages he was on at City.

I agree, thats why City are still paying a few of the players who left years ago. Thing is with Barry's contract up City wont have to do that and there arent many players who will take huge cuts to join teams, admittedly Barry strikes me as more the type to do so than quite a few others. Could never see Ade doing that for us

Barry may have no other choice than to take a cut in pay as no-one was prepared to take Barry on due to his inflated wage.

Barry took a cut to play football. He is happy here and has made all the right noises about signing in the summer so......

He'll want a decent wage, but I think the length of Barry's contact will be more important. He's 32, his next move will probably be his last.

How much you think he would want alas?

Barry started his playing career as a CB I think, but due to his versitality he became a left back then central midfielder.
I can see him finishing up back as a CB before he retires, purely down to his reading of the game and his physique

£50k-£60k maybe. If he wants more I can't see us paying it.

And that amount would be more than enough.....and the same Neville was earning. So we should be easily be able to afford that for a key player
