Pathetic Officiating in the BPL

I watched 3 games and the highlights of several others at the weekend and was once again astounded at some of the decisions (and non-decisions) of some of the officials in the Premiership. Blatant penalties missed and others awarded for virtually nothing. Poor offside calls and yellow cards given when they shouldn't and not given when they should have been.

There are at least two centre-backs (different teams) in the league who, week in and week out, at every corner and free-kick, clutch, grab and hold their opponents with nothing more than a warning given. All this with the referee having the clearest of views, no more than 6 or 7 feet away.

I simply cannot believe just how these officials get top games every week. Of course maybe they are the best of a very, very poor complement. That would explain it.
