My Visit To Villa- Summary Of The Game

Decided to watch the game at Villa park last night.
Watching a game live allows you to see a little more of the beautiful game. It makes the quality players look even better than they do, while the rubbish ones lack of talent is magnified as well.

Overall, it was the typical Arsenal we've been accustomed to this season. Score 1 or 2 and see the game out.
Didn't get out of second gear either.

Arsenal weren't terrorising Villa per se. I think the team were lacking quite a bit of pace. And while Gnabry gave a decent account of himself, I was expecting Podolski to start as he would've been more of a goal threat. We got Arshavin Mark II in the house baby!

When the chances did fall for em, man did they take them. A quick double fire surprised me, my fellow undercover gooners and the increasingly more aggressive Villans.

Giroud's goal was quality. While Wilshere was bossing the show. Englishman was the best player on the pitch at half time.

Second half, very little happened. Villa snatched a goal. Quite a nice finish by Benteke mind you.

Watching the game up close, one sees just how good both Koscielny and Mertesacker are. They don't even have to communicate with each other.

When Villa nicked the goal, Arsenal were struggling with to deal with Benteke's aerial prowess. He'd literally win every single ball in the air. As result, Mertesacker was put on him.
So when Mertesacker would go a little bit further up field to challenge for the hoof balls, Koscielny would place himself behind him and mop up.
Honestly it's quite a sight up close.

Twas a nice experience all in all. Quite enjoyed being an undercover gooner in the Holte End. Was blatantly obvious we were that as well, seeing as we just kept mentioning Arsenal players names. Realised we were in danger so decided to chuck one of the faceless Villa players names in occasionally.

Villans were being very savage and uncouth. They didn't say nice things about Wilshere. They were particularly fond of the word 'gobs'hite'.

P.S. Giroud needs to stop holding dramatically holding his hands on head whenever he gets something wrong. Gives off a bad vibe. And more importantly he won't be ready to take advantage of a potential mix up or a pass by a team mate. Just get on with it.
