Peter Clarke !!!

Do we want captain slow, Peter Clarke to go straight back into the team when he is fit ?

Answer ..................NO..... Please NO

I think we are playing really well without him.

But I bet he does,

but if he doesn't and any of the back line make any little mistake, Mark Robins will use it as a reason for putting him back in.

It's all about opinions, I don't want him back in personally. Not " dissing" him, just my opinion.

Is pc better than Gerrard though?

Btw Oxford are 0-2 up @ Charlton.

No need to diss him though.

I was not diss' ing him as you say. I was pointing out that the players that came in to replace him are doing a good job.
So when Peter Clarke is fit he should not go straight back into the team as some people are saying.

38 will want him straight back in but I'm not too sure myself, as I reckon his better days are now behind him, although he would be a good acquisition for a lower league club, such as the Bantams or York.

Thanks, but no thanks, keep Captain Chaos on the bench. Town would have conceded more goals in with him in defence.

It would be better for him to move on in this transfer window. He's off the pace for the Championship.

Peter Clarke gets straight back in the squad as he has in the past put more effort in then most of the rest of the defence combined! He also wasnt much worse then what we had so then it came down to personal preferences.

Now however I agree that Lynch and Smith are ahead of him in the pecking order, Wallace is looking a prospect and given a few more games mare be ahead of him too. I would however have PC ahead of Gerrard as his temperment is better.

We could do with keeping him in the sqaud until the summer and then let him go to a lower level to be a captain somewhere else as he would still be immense at League 2 level.

Town's philosophy of bringing on the younger players will be the main obstacle for PC.

He's 32 now and getting to the stage where lads 10 years younger than him are pushing him..and doing okay.

They may well reward him with another contract for his efforts, but whether he'll be happy not playing every week at this stage is doubtful.

The injury came at a bad time for him I suppose, but I expect him to be on his way as he'll reckon he's got 2 or 3 years football left in him yet, at a lower level maybe.

Another contract!......have you been on the magic mushrooms?

Surely his days at Town are numbered, keep him until the end of the season to cover for injuries and then give him a chance to earn one final payday elsewhere.

I only said "they may reward him............." which doesn't mean I agree with it...

Being club captain might mean he will get preferential treatment over what other players get though ?

When is he out of contract ?

End of the season, I think even his supporters would admit he doesn't deserve another contract.
