"At least we've now bottomed out and moving back in the right direction"

Boggers - yes we bottomed out, but we WERE moving in the right direction and are static now I would say.

Mowatt has promise. Poleon hasn't progressed as well as he might have done, and lacks any sort of creativity / brainpower when he gets near goal. Don't forget White was released not so long ago, and no other clubs came in for him.

White is currently on loan, and as such, hasn't been released. If his time at Sheff Utd helps him learn how to get to the by-line and cross a ball back, we may well hold onto him and sell/part company with Drury or Pugh. Poleon needs game time and may well benefit from a loan spell. Mowatt is a work in progress, but that can be managed best by staying at ER & periodically playing in the development squad as well as the first team.

We've been static for the last couple of games. But I fully expect to see a positive reaction on Saturday. If, however, we play against Leicester in the same fashio as we did against Wednesday, they could easily knock up a cricket score and declare at half time.

Boggers, When I said we're static, I mean that we've been static for the last 2-3 seasons - I'm not thinking about the last two games. We got promoted, had a great first season in the championship, but since then we've been stagnating.

With White, I was referring to summer 2012 when he was unemployed for a while and clubs weren't queuing up to sign him.

Point noted Warwick. I'm not sure I entirely agree. Colin's appointment wasn't particularly forward looking, but Grayson would have taken us forward eventually if given time and backing.

We've now got a decent manager who will certainly take us forward if given time. I think GFH or who ever is in charge this time next week will back him to a degree, and progress might be slower than we would like. But remember, Old Red nose at the u no where and Moyes at Everton were given time. Even Wenger who hasn't won a trophy for 8 years has been given time to progress.

Boggers, I'm certainly not against giving a manager time. And I'm not sure who we would bring in who would be an improvement.

But it's nearly two years since Grayson went, and by your own argument we've made no progress since then (ie. having a manager in place that could take us forwards given time). I'd also argue that our squad is now significantly weaker and less 'future orientated'. We had a midfield four then who were all young and all liklely to develop into players capable of playing in the premiership.
