Good news regarding Doumbia

After a little effort trying to figure out what the hell the Valenciennes fans were talking about on their forum, via google translate, the penny dropped.

I posted a few comments earlier today from the site with some positive feed back regarding Doumbia, at the time i didn't read this closely, assuming it was just a man of the match ranking.

In fact it is the overall player of the season ranking, and our very own Doumbia is top dog according to the masses, and by some margin as well.

18 day results against Bordeaux: 1st: 10 pts Doumbia: 2nd Masuaku 8 pts 3rd: Kagelmacher 6 pts 4th: Angoua 3 pts 4th: 3 pts Chito General Classification: 1: Doumbia 93 pts 2nd: 60 pts Kagelmacher:3rd 54 pts Melikson :4th Dossevi 47 pts 5th: Rose 41 pts 6th: Masuaku 36 pts 7th: Mater 26 pts ...

Can only be a good thing for us if he impresses, the downside being that Valenciennes are in danger of relegation, but given his performances, it is quite possible another Ligue 1 side may take him on.

Wulfrunnut

He seemed good until he signed permanent contract and then any ability he had shown seemed to fly back to France.

Another in a long line of players who have shown such promise whilst on loan to Wolves and end up being an epic fail once permanent

Unlike Eggart Jonsson, who never showed any promise before, during or, as far as know, after his time with us.

One of the strangest signings in recent times

Not sure why we're analysing players that have moved on, either on loan, or permanently. It has little bearing on the squad KJ is assembling, and our efforts for promotion this year, unless it's to be antagonistic? We should be concentrating on the here and now.

With Doumbia clearly at the centre of last season’s dressing room unrest I don’t think he has a future with us.

I don't want him back here either, but my point was that he is impressing in France and that can only be a good thing for one of our most pricey assets at 2 million.

And Butey, he is OUR player, so what he is up to is extremely relevant

I would say we have a good chance of maybe breaking even with him, read elsewhere that he was in the french player of the month running earlier in the season, so it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that another Ligue 1 club may move for him.

Will you please do the decent thing and bite when I post comments like the one above Cinci? This forum is fast becoming a farce.

I saw it tats

But i do think he did have a negative effect

Are we still talking about Ward?

Yes we are, and rightly so.
