and.. this could be a GB moment (god bless him), but if we really are still in with a chance of Salah, as Brendan and Jose have suggested, how good would it be if we got him, and Chelsea pull the plug on the Mata deal as they don't have a replacement bench warmer!!

Would be very pleased with De Jong. I think a DM should predominantly break up play, which De Jong does. Although Lucas has improved a great deal in this department and his stats prove this...... I feel its kind of square peg in round hole

De Jong wouldn't be cover to Lucas, he's better than him.
Rumours that Nocerino could be off so Essien is probably his replacement.

With AC still in CL I very much doubt they will sell De Jong.

Is Essien cup tied for CL? I don't think he is, but I could be wrong.
