Mata

Still in disbelieve with the Mata signing but this will hopefully change the following..

1. Arsenal fans will feel less awkward for selling one of their best player (rvp) to us.

2. Mata, Rooney, Rvp, ( fellani) are fairly big name players that will attract any other player.

3. Moyes heading to the right direction

4. Is hazard a possibility?

Mata is not a luxury signing. Our lack of chances created and goals scored speaks volumes. I think people underestimate how much we need that little bit of magic, particularly when we are so defensive in appeoach. Mata doesn't track back? Thank god for that!!! Now we will have 10 behind the ball, rather than 11.

But he would be a better player in a more attacking team.

I still think Fellaini will come good, he has been injured and some players take a while to settle in at Old Trafford. Roy Keane wasnt that great in his first season and a lot of people forget that.

Siempre, the problem with Fellaini is that he does not have the attributes to be a top midfielder at this level.

We could play him as a striker, that would be the only way we would get value out of him, I do not see it happening for him as a midfielder

Kagawa was a similar signing to Mata.

Kagawa was. But kagawa doesn't seem to have the footballing intelligence to find space and create an outlet. By all accounts Mata does. Kagawa would benefit from Mata, should they play together though. Kagawa is a one touch, give and go type player and a very good one. But we don't have the players to play that game or at least we didn't, until now.

Kagawa wasn't at all a similar signing to Mata. Kagawa was bought because United wouldn't pay what it cost for Hazard. Mata is a banker, Kagawa was a gamble based on value in the market.

Oddly enough I seem to remember some United posters here saying that Kagawa was better than Hazard, and that Mata was over rated and not a patch on Carrick.

btw Siempre when I made that remark about Mars bars, I was only trying to say it's been a while since you made a really exciting signing.

Kagawa looked a great player and was an exciting signing but Mata is proven Premier League quality and will be a guaranteed hit for us.

I think kagawa was very much the real deal in the Bundesliga with Dortmund which is why Fergie bought him. He hasnt made a mark at United yet because Fergie then and now Moysie doesn't know where to play him in a system that doesnt suit him.
Doesnt bode well for Mata, that.

Absolute bollhocks RBW - Kagawa just isn't as good a player as Mata. I guarantee you will never see Mata let the game pass him by - whatever the position he is played in - the way it does with Kagawa.

Is this turning into another 'lets feel sorry for Kagawa' thread?

which part is absolute bollhocks

the fact that kags was good in Germany?
or the fact that he has been generally misplayed by both his United managers

Im not saying that Kagawa is better or worse than Mata . My point is that they were similar signings with regard to the area of the pitch they play in. To accommodate either of them we are going to have to change the way we play.
