Once Rangers are back into the top flight, it is always possible that some old faces could return.
I could see the likes of a Steven Davies getting to the end of his southhampton contract, being 31/32 and coming back for the last years of his career.
He at least left with a little dignity. Even McGregor, i would welcome back.
The likes of naisy and Whittaker would be chased out of town.
Who will wear the jersey again

"what was honourable or loyal"
There's your problem right there.
Expecting modern day footballers to put loyalty and honour before tehir own career prospects and protection is madness
other than Lee Wallace, the guys that stayed did so coz there was fck all else on the table and becoming a free agent was more of a risk
Lee Wallace is the only guy that I will apportion any sort of loyalty or respect to when he comitted his future to the club and put his scotland prospects on the line to do so.....as for the rest.....whether they left or stayed, the thinking behind it was looking after number one first and foremost and if you believe it was anything else, yer rather deluding yersel

If Wallace is loyal by staying how come the others aren't by bolting ?Selfish money grabbing r soles who should never be allowed to come back.

"If Wallace is loyal by staying how come the others aren't by bolting?"
Wallace demonstrated loyalty by doing what he did.
As for the others, the only loyalty they demonstrated was paper talk that folk fell for, and its theri fault for falling for such pi$h and getting in a huff when it turns out they actually were like most modern day footballers only concerned with theri own carerr and how much money thay can make in the short space of time that they are in their prime
If we are going to chase every footballer with these ideals form our door, there wont be many people left in the game for us to choose from....this is what post Bosman football is about these days, its a players market

People say guys like Edu et al were loyal and honourable becasue they tuped over and then left.
They still wanted to leave...fck all loyalty in wanting to leave in my book.
As for staying to ensure the club got a fee.....bollox.
They stayed coz fck all else was on the table that they wanted, and although unlikely, there was still a chance of Rangers playing in the SPL at the time that this was all going on.
Edu finally left for Stoke, and he probably knew he wasnt going to get much of a game when he left, but for him, going there and doing fck all was a better option than staying here and plying regularly in a lower league....aye, thats loyal as fck that is

The fact that most of our former players have gone on...to do very little suggests to me that they were obviously not very good to begin with, which by extension means that they were performing above their own abilities due to the Management and coaching at the time. No?

......So as far as the OP is concerned, I wouldn't particularly welcome any of them back, not for and "faux offended" insulting/loyalty reason. Just cos they were no very good in the first place, and I think we should be looking to build and create a new exciting team.....
