This is usually a stats article for comparison and interest however I fear McDermott will not get to join the list of managers I am comparing him with here as a first full season survivor unless Haigh & Co ultimately win the takeover battle. It's interesting to hear his remit this season was stabilisation and it's hard to imagine what he's having to deal with right now.
Yes some of the names below are from a different time when football was about the sport but just look where Revie stands in this months ranking. You could argue McDermott is no Revie but who knew what was coming back in 1961. If humans could see the future this club wouldn't have had a manager since David O'Leary.
We've employed the Championship winning managers of 2011 and 2012 in Warnock and McDermott and tied their hands behind their backs and given them a beating. So perhaps next its Chris Hughton or Malky McKay surely one of them will strike gold. There probably isn't a manager out there with the answer under the current conditions.
Anyway enjoy the stats if you can and I hope its still relevant next month.
These are the first FULL season survivors as managers of Leeds United and Neil Warnock for interest and how they fared to the end of January of their respective first seasons.

The Warnock verses McDermott comparison in December saw both end on 35 points but now there's a gap of 5 points in favour of Warnock from one game more. The playoff benchmarks of Billy Bremner (4th in his first season) and Eddie Gray (8th in his first season) are still in touching distance both on 36 points as is McDermott but he has played 2 games more.

Leeds First Season Manager January Update

I remember reading this at the time and thinking it was tempting fate when saying hoping we don't see the same etc...:
"The Warnock verses McDermott comparison in December sees both end on 35 points but McDermott has still played 2 games less, but Warnock achieved the 35 points in 23 games too before ending December with double defeats lets hope we don't see the same this year. It's also worth a mention that McDermott is one of the few on here showing an upward trend in this table each month and he's bang in the middle of the playoff benchmarks of Billy Bremner (4th in his first season) and Eddie Gray (8th in his first season)"
