I'm very happy with our January business. Matic was a fantastic signing, even though he used to be ours. Exactly what we've needed in our midfield.

I'm still gutted about selling Mata to United. And seeing him in that shirt the other night was sickening. BUT we got £37m for a 'bench warmer'. And I don't mean that in a derogatory way at all. It's a fact, and our league position proves Mourinho right.

I went to the Basel game at the Bridge this season, and we were awful. Possibly one of the worst performances I've seen at home in the Abramovic era. But I said at the time that Salah was outstanding. He was the best player on the pitch. I've not seen enough of him to say I have complete faith in him being a consistent performer. But if he turns in some decent performances, it will look like a bargain at £11m.

And I am very please about Kurt Zouma. He is an absolute unit. An athletic animal, who works at 100% all the time. Considering that we, as well as City, have been linked to Mangala for a ridiculous price for ages, I am glad that we have opted for £12.5m Zouma instead.

But. If you asked me on January 1st what we needed the most, I would have said a top striker. But then I understand that there isn't really one available. It frustrates the carp out of me, and the West Ham game just epitomises the situation we are in.

It won't happen, but if the club pull a surprise out the bag and sign a Costa or a Cavani. I would say we'd compete with City for the title. But as I said it won't happen. But the future is looking good.

I appreciate our business even more when I see Arsenal scrimping to sign Kallstrom, Kalou and Klose on the last day 😂😂😂.
