Hi Guys
Completely off the football topic - I'm getting married in May to a Polish girl - we're going out there to have the wedding but I'm keen to keep as much Scottish/British tradition as possible.
What kind of things sum up for you a Scottish wedding? What traditions should we keep and what songs should we sing?
Singing is massive in Polish weddings - and they will all be singing "Sto Lat" every 5 minutes, I'd like my guests to be able to come back with a song in return!
All help appreciated, cheers.

The Gay Gordons could work in Poland as it is a sort of Poznan/Goosestep combo

To the tune of How would you like to be me♫
If you listen I;ll tell you the tale of a man
who winched a wee lassie they called Mary-Anne
He winched her by day and he winched her by night
and he married her one day when he was half tight
(Chorus)Tra lala tra la lee oh how would you how would you like to be me.♫
The wedding was held in a hall in the Plains and the neighbours came out wie their greetin -faced weans
There were Jews from the Gorbals and Poles frae Mossend and Irish and Frenchies and big Heilin men
Chorus.Tra la la etc
Now Marys old man was the first wan tae sing and his voice was as bad as the Rangers left wing
then the Polis came in at the end of the tale and the Honeymoon night ,it was spent in the jail
Tra lala♫

Or you could sing the Honeymoon song
tune of ♫Side by Sidei
♫We got married on Monday
the party lasted till Sunday
when the guests were all gone
we were alone side by side♫
We got ready for bed then
boy I nearly dropped dead when
Her false teeth and her hair
she placed on a chair
side by side
Then she took one eye out
and then she undid an ear
and then one arm
and then one leg
and placed them all on a chair
Man I was really downhearted
half of my wife had departed
So I slept on the chair
as there was MORE of her there
♫Side By Side☺♫
