Hypocrisy?

A small caveat before I start: this is not an article to criticise Utd per se, I'm not calculating this for total (or even net - for you JA-Accountants) spend, as a successful club (and they are extremely successful, let's be honest) will always have revenues to support spending greater amounts than their rivals.

I noticed a lot of 'Henderson starting to justify his price tag in recent months' comments and thought back to our pursuit of him and rumoured pursuit of Phil Jones, and thought; didn't Jones cost a similar amount???

Why has nobody in the press picked up on this? Then when you look at other players bought since 2010 and you can see how many other instances Utd have (massively) overpaid. It seems to go relatively unnoticed.

Moyes has a massive task ahead of him, and Ferguson should be held accountable. But the media would rather talk about Mourinho's latest 'witty comment' or how Suarez has fell out with his gran. It's shameful

How many of those players are in the team, how many actually start, and how many deserve to start, or how there just because nobody else is good enough at present?

I know a Liverpool fan can't say too much about spending in recent years, but as I say, this isn't a them versus us article, it's more how negative and positive spin can have a massive impact on a neutral's view
