Owners and Directors Test

The following is from an article in the YEP regarding the FL's Owners and Directors Test: -

"Cellino and other new directors of Leeds are required to comply with the League’s Owners and Directors Test – an examination which he is likely to pass – but a key part of the League’s inquiries is believed to be focusing on Cellino’s ability to fund both his £25m buy-out of United and the future running of the club.

Football League rules state that “the executive shall have the power to require the person who proposes to acquire or has acquired control to appear before it and to provide evidence of the source and sufficiency of any funds which that person proposes to invest in or otherwise make available to the Championship club.""

Taking the above into account, it makes you wonder how on earth GFH got through the same test only to find that financially, they're not up to it 14 months on.

EIther GFH were well and truly duped by Bates regarding the financial position of the club, or the FL are completely inept at reaching sensible decisions either one way or the other, based on concrete evidence, or lack of it .

Perhaps it's a mixture of both.

Not only that, these GFH jokers have managed to keep 25% for themselves for future Prem League windfall pay out (well 10% GFH and 15% between Nooruddin's own dibs (-our chairman and 5% GFH owner) and IIB) and continue with director level positions.

Perhaps the FL are not happy that GFH continue in these positions at the club they have just milked to the point of bankruptcy.................oh and it would be hilarious if the new FL chief exec was the guy that thought GFH offered such a fantastic future for LUFC along with his old Monaco based boss

They are all bloody useless, roll on Cellino.

Maybe the FL like the plight Leeds are in,and scared Cellino is a way out.He must know he can do the deal, his family will own 65% of the club, and they will know the laws of business to take control. They only need to put his son or business associate to be at the helm. How long was Bates our big cheese before he said he owned Leeds. The football league do not make business laws and every football club is a business, and there are some very big fish out there in business that would make mincemeat out of the FL when it comes to doing the business.I wonder how many skeletons FL have in the closet when it comes down to the nitty gritty.Maybe Cellino is only a petty offender compared to some.

I take it you are implying hey have paid themselves quite a lot? It can't be players can it? Or have they gone completely mad?

That guy from the Guardian on Radio Leeds Monday night said the average a Championship wage is about £25k per week. He's way out there surely?

Stoopo ........... i've not trawled the tinternet to check, but i'd be surprised if £25k per week wasn't the average Prem wage. There's some on much more, but i suspect most squad players earn around that (blo(o)dy ridiculous income for average talent in many cases!)).

I'd imagine the CCC must be nearer the £10k mark - although i suspect this season QPR are skewing those figures somewhat ...... and they still can't get to the top of the table! Redknapp, biggest myth ever in football.

McDermott rapidly becoming the next one.....

Caesar. I agree. When I heard him saying that on the radio I just assumed he was another Guardian to££ER of a journalist.

I would think £25k might be right at QPR but no way is it the average wage throughout the CCC.
