It's phrase that we have heard quite a bit of recently and one of the many sticks to beat our trusted manager with. Offering an alternative opinion to the norm that the blame falls squarely with the manager. Does anyone believe it's possible that this could be part of the problem. That they are a team of champions!
The squad is full of players that have been there and done it all. Players like Giggs, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Carrick(the latter three still key players), have done it all for the club. It's only natural after the departure of the great man, that they could subconsciously lost the hunger they once had and forms has suffered as a result. Now of course it's DMs job to motivate the squad, but IF this is a contributory to this seasons failure is it possible to turn that aspect around? With Vidic gone, Rio and evra looking like being off in the summer that's most of them off looking for a new challenge. Their experience will certainly be a loss but if they have lost the fire that made them top players added that the legs going it will free up valuable squad places.
Anyone think this could be a factor in the terrible start to the new managers career here?
PS keep trying to get afc Wimbledon taken off this tags but won't work

Nothing that Fergie didnt do about it either. You cant judge this season by the last. Squads have improved, key injuries have/haven't happened/aged players have declined even further.

Again you are posting BS. Moyes became our manager in July and had the opportunity to assess our squad (let us ignore the decade he played against us at least twice a season) and did nothing to improve the midfield and now you blame Fergie for not fixing it.
Who is the manager now? What has he done to fix it? Absolutely nothing. So please, stop making pathetic excuses

Oh please. As you say, Moyes inherited this championship winning squad.. how was he supposed to know that SAF glossed over the shíte. We were so lucky last season. I was at so many games we should have lost or drawn. RvP won us the league last season; him and terrible rivals.

The team were the champions. There is no rule saying you cannot improve the champions and according to you, our midfield is crap. If an armchair expert like you can see this, why is someone on 6m a year not able to?
Martinez took over his team and signed players to improve them in areas where they were weak, Pellegrini did the same, Mourinho too and most managers in the PL but he didn't.
The fact he didn't is Fergie's fault, right? What next?

I dunno why SAF didnt see it MUDD.
Stop contradicting yourseld... one minute he signed a team of champions, the next minute he should have improved the midfield.
I dont claim to be an expert, but its easy to sit their croticising from your armchairs. The armchair fans are always the biggest glory hunters

I think you are confused flash, I am asking you what Moyes has done about it. The fact you have provided nothing when given multiple opportunities to indicate you've got nothing to offer.
The fact Moyes inherited the champions should have made his life easier. All he needed to do was tweak the team a bit and freshen it up. He's failed to do that and that to me is unforgivable incompetence.

Well he signed Fellaini, then he signed Mata..
Tweak the team slightly? He needed/needs to replace Vidic, Rio, Evra, Young, Cleverley, Giggs, Fletcher and Scholes.....

Well apparently motivation and form are separate entities to you.
Cool man
