Cleverley over Huddlestone

This isn't exactly another Cleverley bashing article, but I just want to know what you believe Hodgson's reasoning is for including Cleverley instead of/but not Huddlestone.

One is in fantastic form, is a real influence in the middle of the park and is getting rave reviews for his performances. The other is Tom Cleverley.

I'd say the same about Smalling. I genuinely don't believe he is good enough for United and he doesn't play in his preferred position, so how does he justify inclusion in the England squad?

You cant blame an injury on the fact he is an average footballer with not a great deal of talent.

-----------------

but it could be a factor.

lets look at it shall we, im sure you were one of the guys jízzing all over the place when Cleverley and Anderson tore Arsenal apart just before he got injured.

the fact is cleverley was coming along well when he was injured, so to say that it has nothing to do with it at all is moronic and shows you have no knowledge of how the human body can work.

injuries affect people in different ways.

people keep going on about how only big club players get picke, what about us? We've got 4 in the squad (3rd highest) n we're not what people would call a 'fashionable' club.

SAF got paid millions to manage a football team for decades.

Same with Roy Hodgson and if you omit the decades bit you can add Roberto Martinez to the list.

They all saw something in TC that maybe you don't. Being professionals and that maybe they're in a prime position, But I'm just guessing

Moyes gets paid millions, whats your point? What are they seeing? because everyone is seeing a vastly underperforming player who has very little to his game

Huddlestone should be in the squad, i think Mark Noble and Nathan Dyer should be given a run as well.

After EVERY international tournement all we hear is that England can't keep the ball and we don't produce players who are comfortable in posession.

When we do have these types of players available we don't play them or we play them left wing (Scholes, Joe Cole). What does Milner offer a team that Dyer doesn't?

I'm not English, so don't really care, but if I were, I would be annoyed at Roy picking names rather than form.

The only player from Man U who should be included is Rooney IMO, nobody else deserves it at the moment.
Also, Ashley Cole and Defoe, what exactly is the point?

Henderson has looked good but for me still don't rate him, just going through a decent spell IMO. Gerrard has looked decent this season, Barkley I think is overated.

the "decent spell" has lasted over 12 months now.

in reality, he has just got the confidence to go with his talent. HE is the reason gerrard is being allowed to shine in his new role

Huddlestone is one of those players who is better than most people give credit. He is extremely technical and here in Spain, he'd be sat in front of the back 4 as a playmaker and with the space and slower speed of the game, he'd be an absolute king. He does really well in the Premier League too when you consider it is not conducive to that kind of player. Cleverly on the other hand, I find annoyingly lightweight - but hey, he plays for Man Utd so he's obviously an excellent player (that's how it goes, isn't it?)
