Where do I stand on Billy? A little on the fence I'm afraid. I've never particularly liked him and didn't want him back. But he had started to change my opinion until around new year. I genuinely think we've been very unlucky with injuries this season but I can also see that if you sign someone like Vaughan who is known to be out for three months then you can't have too many complaints. So although we have been unlucky (and I know lots of clubs have suffered injuries too like Reading and QPR in particular), things could have been handled better and clearly Billy's stubbornness has shone through. Some if his team selection has been odd and it does feel like he picks sides to make a point to the owner or fans. Playing Halford upfront ahead of Henderson, Cox, Derbyshire etc was to make a point. Ironically it coincided with a very fruitful period around Christmas where I thought we player brilliantly at a time when we had a fit squad and Halford to be fair scored on each game. Since then it's gone downhill.

I'm certainly not saying he should be sacked because I'm if the belief that stability is a good thing. However if we can attract a better manager then I wouldn't be against someone like Mackay coming in. But I have doubts that we could actually attract him. If it were me choosing I'd give him til end of season because I think he deserves a full season and the chance to turn things around. But I have a feeling it could happen sooner if his relationship with Fawaz and the fans deteriorates further. I'm sure it will be fun viewing for you lot

I'm happy to do the day-to-day winding up but I genuinely find gloating distasteful. Once the dust has settled it'll be fine to refer back to. In the past couple of weeks I have also given up posting on Forest-only threads because there seem to be too many who won't, or more likely can't, cope with anything more than tedious humourless debate. It's a shame really because on a good day it can be a bit of fun if those participating understand what's going on, but when it descends to people just getting cross it seems pointless.

In fairness I was so hung over yesterday I hadn't the energy to give any grief and of course billy stole our thunder today, but as you have reminded us so much about about the 5-2 over the years, I'm sure we can dine out on a 5-0 for the foreseeable future
