The Guardian are reporting that Man. City are prepared to offer Bacary Sagna a three year deal. There is a two year deal on offer at Arsenal, for the 31 year old, but Bacary is holding out for more, and certainly City will offer more money.
I'd like Sagna to stay, and think we should offer to match the three years. We need to keep experience at the club, but it is a risk for a player who is 31. Also I'm fed up with the number of players leaving Arsenal to head up north, to the money bags!

Looks likely he'll go. It's been reported repeatedly over tge last couple of weeks. If he does, hopefully he enjoys cleaning Zableta's boots

Will feel like a kick in the teeth if he goes to City. I thought the days of selling our best players were over.

It's not selling though. It's a player who's repeatedly rrfused new contract offers leaving on a free to warm City's bench. At least the guys who previously left yous for City went for a fee and could realistically expect to start.

The thing that annoys me most is that he's our best right back just now, and we'll let him leave on a free. City don't even really need him; as MSS says, he'll probably warm the bench for the most part. City really need another centre back. At present they have Kompany, and the rest are pretty average; in comparison. Hope they don't go for The Verminator as well!

More Likely we would go for vertonghen

I guess they want him in a Centre back capacity. He's certainly good enough to play there. Also would not dispose Zabeleta, so guess he could be a back up for RB.
But will not be happy. Arsenal transfers have been much of a joke as the end of season run ins.

why is he not signing a new contract? is it length? wages? or what? How about we give him a 2 year contract with an option to extend for a further year or two(at our discretion)

He want a 3 year contact at around 100k per week.
At the age of 31 his best years are way behind him and if he doesnt accept the 2 years on offer he can pack his bags and leave.
