A lot of people point to Moyes never having won away against the big sides as a reason why we'll never win anything with him but surely that doesn't really matter?
Look at this season. We have the best away record in the league and it's really our home form that had stopped us from challenging. Okay, Moyes should have done better at home and that's something he will obviously strive to improve but he showed with Everton he can win at home against any of the big sides and with improvements to the first team you'd have to think more home wins will come next season.
To sum up the point of my article, having a better home record (which will surely come) added to the impressive away record we have already should see us challenging for the title in coming years. You don't actually have to win away at the big clubs to win titles. I remember SaF having seasons where we didn't do well against big sides and won the league.
Ideally Moyes will win away from home against big clubs (was the width of a crossbar from winning at Arsenal this season) but one of the hardest things a manager can do in this league is win at teams like Palace and Villa with the regularity Moyes has done. 3 points are 3 points no matter where they're gained .. Chelsea winning at City might end up meaning nothing if that Palace defeat costs them the title.
I'd be more than happy if we won more home games, beat the folder away from home and drew the big away games. That should have us in title contention. And Moyes had a good away record for getting draws at the big clubs with Everton. Last season he drew at Arsenal, City and Liverpool.
Does Moyes' big team away record matter?

First of all Vidic has only played 28 times this season. 7 of those have been in other competitions.
21 of those have been in the league and he has been sent off twice.
Rio has played 11 times in the league this season with 19 overall appearances in all competitions.
They are hardly the bedrock of our defence this season. So it is amusing you blame them for our defensive problems.
A few facts, we have the 5th best defence in the league
1 Chelsea 24
2 Manchester City 28
3 Everton 31
4 Arsenal 37
5 Manchester United 38
So a very flawed defence is still very good.

It's not wumming. It's bizarre you think it is. But whatever it is, it's pretty obviously not wumming.
You ask for evidence but evidence isn't always as straightforward as that. He may grow with the role - you can't say he won't. He may get more adventurous with a better defence that doesn't always need looking after - you don't know that.
I can't speak for you or anyone. But I can speak for myself and say that I want him to bring in his players this summer and see how he and they do.
Remember, there were people in July who said 'what evidence does Moyes have of being able to get out of our CL group' and he did.
SAF and the club will give him every chance to succeed. Is it really that bad that I hope he coes good with certain ins and outs of the playing squad helping his cause?

So a guy who's played in two thirds of our league games (and often in the big games) is not a bedrock?
When you have Jones, Evans and Smalling, all 3 injury prone and arguably not yet (if ever) good enough to be United defenders then it's pretty obvious that we need reinforcements.
So you're now saying that the '5th best defence in the PL' is good enough. But you wouldn't allow the same allowance for Moyes not being the best.
Quite amusing.

You can't grow with the role if you have no idea about it in the first place.

I'd say he's getting a crash course this season
That's why I admire what the club are doing by giving him time.
Other clubs would probably sack him but if the club are giving him the time to learn on the job (he may or may not be able to - you or I have no convincing argument either way) and he does succeed it will be a pretty cool thing.
If he does succeed that way would you be at all happy with the club for doing it?
It's not like he's just some guy off the street. He is a good manager.

That is not what I am saying at all my good man. I am saying that the much maligned defence you are blaming for our season rather than incompetent management are not as bad as you are making out.
Really wonder where you got that last paragraph from, I at no point during his incompetent tenure at Management have set a target for him to be the best. He is not a quality manager and it would be unfair to him.
I however do not tolerate incompetence and not learning from mistakes.

So you say we're the 5th best defence in the league and that they aren't to blame for our poor season?
If I had the time I could point to how defensive errors cost us goals against
Saints
Cardiff
Newcastle
Everton
Fulham
Spurs
All games that with a better defensive performance we'd have more points than we have now.
That's even before I get to the 4 goals we conceded against Liverpool, 7 against City and 3 against Chelsea not to mention the awful defending against Olympiakos.

That would be a good debate to have and we can also discuss how we sat back and invited pressure and scored very few goals and made negative substitutions. You omitted the West Brom game as well
Where would you like to start?

Yes, Moyes has had a poor season but there are many valid reasons he can point to for that rather than the inane 'he's a rubbish manager' excuse the critics lazily point to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
actually thats not true... United are having a poor season by our standards (putting it mildly)
David Moyes on the other hand... is having a standard David Moyes season in every respect.
