I wrote an article a while back
Stating that I felt as if the money was drying up at chelsea or there was a plan to become self sufficient, build for the future and go from there
I said I felt that we would start to see arsenal style transfers of big players for profit
It seems that is actually now the case as every major outlet is reporting that Jose will be given no money apart from money generated from sales and even going as far to say either hazard or oscar will leave to fund a re build
Which id be fine with we have an abundance of talent in our youth team and of corse out on loan.
I made a comment about how much there would be spent on players wih money generated from sales. £80m is what I came up with and the outlets are also ball parking that figure.
My ideas and views were roundly criticised but it does seem to be making more sense.
We need a striker. We also need a number of tweeks in other areas. Can we afford to take the foot if the pedal when it comes to spending? Is this Jose first real test at a club that will not go and spend the money on whoever he wants?
It's certainly an intriguing prospect
We have had it good for such a long time And I'm excited at the possibility of seeing chelsea run in a different way. Bringing through youth and actually seeing them come through the academy and at for the shirt.
What are your thoughts
Lol no money left

These stories were almost certainly intentionally leaked by Chelsea to try and control transfer prices (a similar story has been spread before every almost every summer window). Every club knows we want a striker and if the media are claiming we have an unlimited budget to spend, everyone will charge us £5-10m extra. If we are claiming that we have limited funds, we may secure better deals.
If for some reason we can't raise any significant funds through sales, it isn't going to stop us buying our main targets.

This is something I hadn't thought about
And would make a lot of sense

This is the bit that makes me laugh - so then we'd have to sell other players to replace the players we've sold - it's not going to happen!

Erm
Not actually the case with hazard and oscar
We have Willian schurrle salah that play there any way
Not to mention
Piazon t hazard Atsu traore on loan
It's not a position we are light in
Just sayin

There is no smoke without fire. I remember people being adamant Mata wouldn't be sold.
I'm not sure why a conversation can't be had about the possible future of bringing through talent and selling for profit.
I'm using the articles released today as a springboard to invoke such discussion

The story of having to sell key players is clearly complete rubbish, it actually riles me that someone is making a living from such an ill thought out article given we’ve a £100 million worth of sellable player assets who are currently squad or reserve players. Even if you don’t include our biggest assets who we may or may not cash in on in Luiz, Courtois and Lukaku we could generate enough to sign a top quality striker and balance the books.
