So it looks like Cellino will be allowed to pass the fit and proper test which makes a mockery of football's attempt to protect football from dishonest folk.
FL need to have a look at the way they implement that test and also whether or not clubs can be allowed to receive injections of cash or be bought out before the potential owners have passed the FL criteria.
Cellino u turned on his previous statements that he would walk away if FL failed him and his efforts have proven successful for the moment but the fear is that he will create utter turmoil at the club.
Yes, we all want to see Haigh and Nooruddin go, but these are the people that he has actually guaranteed a position for.
Past behaviour is the best indicator for future behaviour and I forsee a lot of instability regarding managerial position over the long term at Leeds if Cellino doesn't fall foul in future of FL rules. I also see a lot of potential unrest with players if Cellino's lack of diplomacy and complete unawareness of whom he offloads to as we saw in his 'phone call' continues.
I do however look forward to Cellino making good on his promises to buy back ER and TA and invest in the team. This is a big job and only possible if you don't dip your hands in the till as Bates and GFH have done.
Mike, we bet a tenner on Italians taking over by end of season, lets see Cellino ownership fully confirmed and in place in next week or so and then happy to owe you!
Thoughts on current situation

The ownership and running of the club took 2nd place until they started buying 22 carat goldfish,

It's alright giving a plan of when we're aiming to be in the Premier League but what happens if the PL block Cellino once promoted!
Don't the PL have different rules to the FL?

I think the rules are the same now.

I find it amusing that someone like Bates, who has a track record of failed businesses and almost killed both Chelsea and Leeds, could feasibly pass the fit and proper test.
It's also something of a mockery in that those who are effectively running our competitors, have a say on who takes over our club. The very same people who had a say in the penalties applied to Leeds United when we entered administration and again when we exited it.
Unprecedented punishments then, whether justified or not, and unprecedented investigation into Cellino. Paranoia? You betcha. Always Leeds.
When an application is made it is the circumstances that prevail at that time that should apply. Waiting for a conviction to happen is appalling. Innocent until proven guilty.
Birmingham City, Blackpool, Manchester City, Portsmouth et al. All have had dodgy owners but nothing like we've experienced in terms of attention.
Hardaker had issues with Revie and Leeds United and it's been the same ever since.
Bates & GFH have both effectively mis-managed this club and in many aspects raped & pillaged it with management fees and extracurricular activities. The latter party certainly had FL approval, where's our's and our the club's recourse? None.
Strikes me that this is a one way street serving those who sit within the establishment and those alone. I don't see our interests being served whatsoever.
The holier than thou approach is a little amusing.
Our concern should be the long-term benefit of this club. Here is a football man, not a man with dodgy cash looking to make more of the same at our expense. He's a successful businessman. He's had a sustained track record as owner of Caliagri. Much longer there than most of our regimes have had here.
There's an old saying my Yorkshire Grandfather had "if they're good enough then they're good enough and if they're not, they're not".
If Cellino is good enough for Caliagri then he's good enough for Leeds United.
As for his penchant for sacking managers, so what? As my Grandad once said, if they're not good enough, then they're not good enough.
Enough of this sanctimonious claptrap. Cellino is here to do business, thank God he is. He wants success. He wants to invest. He wants to rebuild our club. I for one can't see owt wrong with that.
It's been a long time coming. As I once staged a lone self imposed exile of ER whilst Bates was in situ will those who seek a whiter than white knight in shining armour be boycotting the club under Cellino?
I wonder......
This is Leeds United. Support the man who wants to recreate the club in the form that we all loved.

Here, here.Stefano .Some will still be doubting Massimo Cellino no matter what he does, they have made their minds up.Maybe they would have preffered an ex Man U man running the club with other unknowns.....We tried an ex Chelsea man, and that went well Now they would be the sort of guys we should be able to trust. Not some dodgy Italian geezer that has just about single handedly kept the club from administration in the last couple of months....The truth is that,no one would have trusted anyone taking over the club,we would have reservations about them, but at least with Cellino he has dug into his own money, and has the passion we need.

There's an uncanny coincidence of LUFC getting "preferential" treatment from the FL. Always seem to be able to re-write the rules when it comes to us.
Steviedee is spot on. Owning a football club is a business. How can a business be directly affected by it's direct competitors - it's a farcical set up and fraught with conflicts of interest.
It's nothing to do with paranoia - it's just an uncanny coincidence that the FL decide to apply the rules stringently when our club comes calling.
