No sense rushing him back. It's backfired too many times in the past. As Frimboue says, better to give him the time to make sure he's as good as he'll ever be for pre-season. If he can't do that then may as well let him go.

I might be crazy but I don't think I am the only one that thinks that he is the powerful midfielder the team is crying out for! Sad that he will never stay fit to play that role for a whole season.

Even at his best Diaby was never really a powerful midfielder.
Now he is the exact opposite. Liable to break in half if he went into a full blooded 50/50

Diaby, good player, he isn't going to stay fit though no matter what, isn't cut out for professional football anymore

idk man, he is good on the tackle, he is mobile, can hold the ball pretty well and pass it too. I didn't mean powerful in the sense that he can bulldoze the opposition into submission but he can be a really great DMF if he can stay fit. Remember his performances when Song got injured in 2010/11? I thought he was brilliant there!

This is brilliant news. Absolutely love Diaby and I've been desperately hoping he can turn his career around.
I'd like to see him eased back in through the remainder of our season with sporadic first team appearances... then worked like a machine over the summer so that he can dominate the world next year!
Although I could perfectly understand him wanting to jump straight back into the.deep end with a late surge towards the French team.
What ever he does, as long as he gets to pick up an FA Cup Winners medal and be fit for next season im happy.
COME ON DIABY!

A few twenty minute runouts from the bench would be ideal,he has to start sometime, the sooner the better.

Played nearly an hour tonight. Sounded like he did okay.
