Elokobi

I'd like him back, views? Can't be any worse than Harding or Fox
And would allow Cohen to move back into his most effective position, midfield, if he gets back to full fitness

I think Cohen is our best left back. TBH if we play 4 4 2 he would struggle to get in midfield ahead of Reid, Vaughan, Lansbury and Patto.

I'm sure SP will have his own ideas on who he wants to bring in... but seeing him being released by Wolves isn't exactly a ringing endorsement is it?

He is 28 and severely injury prone! so no!

I think Cohen should play in midfield, He isn't the best fullback by any means, more of a wing back I would have thought, so with Lighja getting forward [hopefully] some one with a good tackle and excellent positional play would be better imo.

trouble is KJ that three out of that four stand a good chance of being injury prone and hence not figure for a full season.
So might Cohen come to that, jeeze what a bunch of expensive crocks!

No. I'd rather have Fox or Harding at LB. Cohen's best position is LB.

Can see Psycho liking a Cohen type of player at LB, someone who adds a lot more to our attacking play.

Cohen is best at LB these days. Agree with Jacko that he would struggle to get into our midfield if everyone was fit. Saying that he would have played many games in CM this season if he'd been fit himself.

Elekobi wasn't great though was he? We can do much better as back up for Cohen.

Big George quickly became a fans' favourite because of his attitude, his 100% commitment; but to be honest he wasn't that good. Since then he has had a very serious injury, and has yet to prove his fitness and reliability. We should only be signing players who are on the up and who will be able to play 30+ games.

Cohen is our best left back, and will struggle to become a first choice midfielder. If SP uses a midfield diamond next season, or 4-2-3-1 there will be plenty of scope for him to push forward into the space in front of him and he has the engine to do it.

Cohen was revelling in his role at left back before his injury. If he has stayed fit and played like that over the whole season, he would have been favourite for player of the year. Seemed to revel in the space that was created by Reid moving inside to get hold of the ball leaving the left flank open for him to go raiding. His high levels of fitness also meant he was able to get back to defend too. Would've been interesting to see how he coped with two of Collins, Lascelles and Halford along side in central defence rather than Hobbs and Wilson as was when he was still playing. May have restricted him attacking wise I would argue. Hope Pearce can get him back up to speed and get similar performances from him next season.

Elokobi was a trier but again, like Fox and Harding, is pretty average. With all this injury problems it would be best to leave him alone, although the "He'll eat you alive!" chant was amusing!

Alright lads, I think its fair to say that big George goes with the best wishes of all Wolves fans for his attitude and committment to the club. However I wouldnt say that any of us are surprised or sad to see him leave. He's hardly played for two seasons now due mainly to injury and partly Jackett not being sure where best to play him. Whether he can get the mobility back to play left back at Championship level is highly debatable and whilst he's looked ok at centre half on the rare occaisons hes filled in there, Im not sure hes tall enough to make a career there.

He could probably do a job at League 1 or 2 level for someone but I would be very surprised if he ends up at Championship club.

He certainly punched above his weight mind and certainly played a big part in some of our biggest games during our three season Premier League cameo, including scoring against Man U home and away.

Old, fancy your chances in Div 2 next season? Seen a bit of Wolves on the FLS and they seem to be a decent side.
