Too many people hating on Buttner. Lad has done well when coming in as a back up. For what he cost and the amount of games he gets cant understand why he gets grief tbh
think he would have been useful on the left wing this season at times over the likes of young.
in fact 2 players who potentially could have played out of position this season would for me have been buttner and Valencia. Who i think could have been the energy in mf we needed as he has a great engine.

Besides he has been back up so i am not saying he is wc or anything. People seem to want Ashley Cole in his heyday as backup to evra in his heyday.

Not exactly sure, but only reason I know him is because he's a Chelsea player. This will be his 5th year out on loan from Chelsea. Speaks for itself that does.
Evra is definitely in the plans for next year, no matter which way anyone looks at it. If we do get a LB then we'll be packing Buttner's bags

I don't hate Buttner. He had a good end of the season and performed to a level I didn't think he was capable of tbh. I do still think he's a mistake waiting to happen though

I don't hate Buttner but he clearly isn't United quality.
He was ok against Bayern but because so many of us have such low expectations for the guy people seem to have overrated that performance simply because he wasn't utterly useless as usual.

explain what he did wrong?
defended well, attacked well.... To suggest people are overrating that performance means that you think he was average, which wasn't the case.
He was a 7.5/8 out of 10, which is some going when you consider the opposition.
