Erl, I'm not being apologetic. Atleti basically mopped everything up for 93 minutes up to the wonderful Ramos header. I can't remember a single time Courtois was seriously tested. Just one deflected fk from Ronaldo that he pushed over the bar.

Also note that I said 'over the course of the season' as opposed to 'on the night'.

And yes, Costa's was a stupid gamble, but they didn0t have much else to offer. A bit mystified as to why Diego (Ribas) didn't feature in Simeone's plans, and I also feel Cebolla Rodríguez should've played a bigger part in their side in the final stretch of the season.

Khedira was a big mistake on Carlo's part too. He was absolutely wayward all night until he was pulled off, but at least Carlo was ballsy with his subs and got them right.

Ramos can be an incredibly frustrating player with his concentration lapses, but he's a fantastic player when he manages to keep his head in the right place and we owe him a big chunk of this CL win.
