No club has ever managed to retain the Champions League however 4 different players have won the competition in successive years.
Can you name them?
(At least have a think before the inevitable Google)
Back to back CL winners.

Or has the OP gone sneaky and classed the old European cup as the CL also?

"No club has ever managed to retain the Champions League"
European Cup doesn't count. All 4 have been named on the thread so far.

Yeah the CL and European Cup aren't really comparable.
Although is love it if the CL changed it's format to the old style, more exciting but then you don't have the best teams in the knock out stages, this lose money.

BusbyBabes: In the old format you had to WIN your league to get into the competition so ONLY the best teams were ever in the knockout stages.
The only difference was that there were limited number of teams (16 I think) and that meant that UEFA couldn't rake in as much money as they do now.

So you feel the winners of the obscure leaves are better than the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Dortmund, Chelsea...?
You REALLY think that? Seriously, think before you type.

No, he difference was that there was no group stage so you could make a final without playing any it of note. These days the beats teams make the knockout stages because they have to qualify over an 8 game period from the group stage.
Thought a child could tell you that.
