The lull before Brazil

Well, someone has to keep this site active. No news about Town's owners.
But, last night I watched the soccer aid game on TV. Best game that I have seen for ages. Real tackles didn't go carded, Gordon Ramsay was solid as CD & played the whole game. We need another CD, so get him signed, the bonus being that he might improve the pies!

Gollum! Great to see you on here!

I'm finding it very frustrating seeing other League 1 sides making what appear to be decent signings whilst we await the outcome of the LP/JM saga. I just want some positive news. At least no-ones gone...yet!

Meanwhile I've amused myself by selecting my Sun Brazil Dream Team...I'm in a Mini League organised n by my son. I never do very well. I'll be out of the country for the bulk of the World Cup with little internet access. Brazil or Argentina will win. What I want most is to return to some positive STFC news regarding ownership and signings.

I can live in hope.

Well Don, I hope that you are off on hols, not work! I belong to a little band of guys on email, mostly ex dyers, though Des (Mondeaux) belongs. We have an annual bet on our teams success - a tenner in the pot, team finishing highest in their respective leagues wins it to go to their chosen charity. Now, the world cup has prompted an extra comp. Each of us picked 4 numbers at random. I got Croatia, France, Nigeria & Iran. Going to write my cheque out now.

I think you do need to write that cheque now!

I have another scenario...against all odds the Socceroos win the World Cup, Luongo comes on in the final, scores a hat trick against Brazil, his value rockets and he goes to Barcelona for £35 million. We buy wisely with the proceeds and sweep through League 1 and the Championship to reclaim out place in the Premiership.

A little unlikely I agree

I'm off on holiday, to Cuba. Their internet is awful but their mohitos are the best!

Buen viaje, Don. Belgium to win the WC. Will you be signing Nicky Ajose?

Hello Chaps!

Good to hear from you all.

Swindon - yep, it's all a bit static. Frustrating. Businessmen. There's no hope for 'em....
TP - is Ajose available? Don't you want to hang onto him? I wouldn't mind signing him up at all!

Ah, the World Cup. Sweepstake and predict-a-score game at work. Looking forward to it. Nice to have some fresh blood in the England team, but our defence concerns me greatly....
I don't think we can expect much from Australia though - have you seen their group?

Enjoy your hols Don!

Oh, and Gollum - yeah, I saw Soccer Aid too. Good game! Davids though....what an idiot. Never liked him. Overrated, dirty-playing poser.

George, we make a lot of players available - E.g. those in the last year of their contracts (unless they are indispensable and are prepared to sign new ones) are always transfer-listed. So, Ajose is available, though likely to continue playing in the first team if not snapped up by another team. A player, therefore, for Swindon to consider signing.

Well, at least it provoked a bit of reaction. Good to know that you guys are still there.
