Afternoon gents, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of other Sporting events today so hopefully a bit of Golf will have to do.
Location: Pinehurst
Date: June 12th-15th
Major History: This will be the fourth Major Golf Championship held at Pinehurst & the third US Open.
Previous Winners: 1999- Payne Stewart 2005- Michael Campbell
What to expect? Lots! An unprecedented US Open set-up, no traditional rough. The course is expected to play fast & firm with the use of the wider fareways on offer. Expect lots of sandy shots. Perhaps a course to suit the long hitters. Should be fun.
The US Open is the toughest test in Major Golf & this will be no different.
Bets: £5 wins on Day, Stenson, Mahan & Fowler.
Smart money might be on Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar & possibly Phil Mickelson. Sergio? Surely not! Justin Rose will be defending his crown & there will be a lot of British interest.

G Mac birdies the first!
-3, good start.
Kaymer's compatriot Siem moves to -1
Garcia triple bogies a horror hole & slides to -4, hovering round the cut line. Poor Sergio.
Leftie is out there, poor approach to the tee on the first.
Still a yawning chasm!

G Mac gives a shot back.
Kuchar joins him & the 'chasing pack' on -2
Leftie hits a lovely approach on his second, crowd erupts, hopeful birdie chance!

Not much in the way of good scoring for the early starters today.
Looks a lot more difficult than the past two days to find birdies.
Another wire-to-wire win for the German likely!

Don't give me false hope now Rickie...

As bad as I've seen.....that's not a golf course.
Hope kaymer takes the pi$$ with his score because some off what I've watched is skill draining.
Poor Choice from the USGA and next years is no better.

Butch Harmon said earlier that whilst some the players have took the challenge on, a few of them aren't particularly happy with what they're up against.
On a more positive note, delighted that Fowler went out in the last group of a Major, hopefully take a lot from it.

Payne is my sporting hero and have ventured out in plus 's.
Had some great coverage on '99 with sky, taken too young.
Payne on Fathers Day...respect &

Nice post.
Four rounds of Golf that will be remembered for a long time from the German. Fitting tribute.

Regardless what a wonderful exhibition of Golf from Kaymer.
Another wire-to-wire victory. Called it right Igor.
Just superb in tough conditions, didn't give the field a sniff. Iron play especially was terrific.
Happy for Fowler tied 2nd, his best Major so far.
On to the Open we go.
