Has to be changes from the Italy game,it was too unbalanced
Pity we don't have a better option at right back because Johnson just isn't good enough, defensively a liability because he's so often out of position.
But there are no suitable replacements so I feel we are lumbered with him.
Why Flanagan isn't in Brazil is unfathomable
Baines as well defensively just doesn't look in the same class as Ashley Cole and perhaps the modern game looks at players offensive attributes rather than actually looking at what they are actually there for ie to defend.
Rooney being played in various positions other than where he should be is just ridiculous, akin to playing Ronaldo or messi as a DM,it's just bizarre.
Hopefully his performance against Italy will have forced Hodgson to have a rethink and give him the opportunity to show the world what he's really made of.
Hart
Johnson Cahill Jagielka Shaw
Gerrard Henderson
Stirling Barkley Sturridge
Rooney
Is how I'd go,for all his workate Welbeck clearly isn't the answer,I'd rather see Lallana given a chance before Welbeck gets the nod again
Barkley has shown enough to warrant a start and playing Sturridge as an outside forward allowing Rooney to play up top should be much better.
Team for Uruguay?

"Italy looked much more likely to score a third than England did to equalize."
After the second goal and 70 minutes you could actually see every single Italy player,in the tight camera shots around the box,all 11 of them!
You didn't just park the bus,you turned it on its side and set fire to it!

How do you score with 11 men in your own 18-yard box you imbecile?

Steven Gerrard was fouled in the box when he was through on goal,a red card sending off offence.
Wayne Rooney missed a sitter,in fact if we'd had anyone who could finish on the pitch instead of Wayne Rooney we'd have scored 3 or 4 goals!
Face it,Italy's creaking pensioners had no answer whatsoever to England's pace,I honestly still don't know how we lost it...well I do,the referee might as well have blown the whistle at 70 minutes,as Italy made sure the game was over then anyway!
