Thus far we have had a player biting and getting a 4 month suspension, diving by numerous players, but one in particular, and now accusations of match fixing. Could this go down as the WC that shamed our game, or the one that enhanced it?

Perhaps I was doing him a disservice but I suppose the main job was win the ball & get It to Giresse & Platini, not a bad instruction really!
The World Cup has been the first I've seen of the French in quite a while to be honest but Valbuena has been very good to watch.
Everything (not a lot admittedly) good that the French did yesterday before Griezmann came on went through him. Inventive player.
Yes I like Benzema, can be a bit of an enigma at times but he looked isolated out wide yesterday in that first half. Suits your club system well doesn't he?
Any news bud over there regarding Suarez? I know its more a case of when not if but I still think anyone (Barcelona fans at that) who thinks John Henry will negotiate a much smaller fee will be mistaken.

I certainly think so. He keeps the attack fluid, which is just what we need. I read someone praising Falcao's ability to hold the ball up yesterday as an example of why he should be preferred over Benzema, but it's the Frenchman's ability to release the ball so quickly that so often makes us tick up front. It's a real luxury to have a guy with his playmaking abilities up top, and it's silly to think you'll score more just by adding more and more goalscorers to a team.

I haven't been following too closely tbh. Up until a week ago I though we'd be breaking the bank on him, now it seems Barça will get him on the cheap. Notwithstanding my above comment on adding goalscorers, it's scary to think what Suarez, Messi and Neymar might be capable of if they actually got to tick, but it's one of those proposals you'd have to look forward to regardless of who you support. Some of the most sublime moments of football I've watched have been delivered by Barça players, I'm not really that tribal.

It would undoubtedly be a scary proposition for Europe if they formed an attacking unit. It will happen sooner rather than later but I still don't think we'll be dictated to by Barcelona, John Henry will dig in & make them pay a big fee. We know when the Spanish giants make their move its next to impossible to hold them off but our stance on what we want wont soften in my opinion.
The tussle between you & them next season will be something, suppose as much as anything the league title will be big on the agenda after last season.

Hard to see how they would all fit in really.

Sorry Major, I had to leave earlier. Reckon you'll get a good deal - they need to be decisive in this window in case the transfer ban is ultimately enforced.
Macca, question is whether Messi would accept being shifted out on the right again. Despite all the goals he's scored since, my favourite version of Pep's Barça was when he played there with Eto'o in the middle.
