On the face of it losing one of the top few players in the world appears a massive blow, however there is also reason to suggest that the void can be filled not one player but by several.
Lose suarez but maybe others step up, the team may look weaker but the squad stronger? Two ways of going, you could point to utd losing Ronaldo yet continuing their title challenge or cite spurs when losing bale and not recovering.
I guess herin lies the genius of the manager, will he now favour 1 up front? After all wasnt he shoehorning suarez and studge because he wanted them both in the team? I guess the next couple of attacking signings will give us a clue, but it wouldn't surprise me to see 1 up and the 4 behind interchanging, ala:
.....................Gerrard.................
.........Henderson.....Lallana.....
.Sterling .........................coutinho.
....................Sturridge...................
Bench: Can..Lambert..Allen..Lucas..Borini..?..?
Ive only gone attack wise here.
Suarez...huge miss or not so huge miss.

I think that our manager is acting in the traditions of what is best for our club. StevieG can't go on for ever, there's more football this season and I suspect he will be used more sparingly. With Can Henderson Lallana (please, not Lucas) all potential players in that area, our skipper may not remain the automatic No.1 choice.

Gerrard won't be playing every game that's for sure. He will be played in the bigger games though

Can see Gerrard playing as many as he did last season. Hopefully he can keep the same level of performances.

......as in the world cup?

I doubt any club wants any English, Spanish or Italian players for the matter to keep the level of their World Cup performances.

Huge miss. He's irreplaceable, don't know where we'll find those 43 goals he was involved in last season.

Yeah really big loss. No one is irreplaceable. Arsenal also lost good players in the past and moved on.
