What's stopping you winning the title?

Arsenal play some of the most attractive footy in the PL and I generally enjoy watching them play.

With the monkey off your back (winning something), and some good signings, maybe you will fight for the title next season.

But what do you think may stop you from doing so? You've done quite well these last few seasons and then you collapse.

I think you've definitely got the players, but have you got the mentality to get over the line? Is this mental disintegration your achilles heal?

PS. I would have loved City to have got Sanchez rather than you!

A great manager?

The annual end of season collapse is a bit of a myth though isn't it.
In the last 3 seasons, taking the last 10 games of each season, we've lost 3 out of 30 games.
2 last season
0 2012/2013
1 2011/2012
Last season aside, it's silly points dropped early in the season that cause the most damage and we tend to go on a really good run towards the end to secure 4th.
Not that the end result is any different mind.

It's simple, up until now City, Utd & Chelsea have outspent us to a MASSIVE degree.

Now that spending gap is narrowing so we have an outside chance, but we still don't have the spending power that you have.

It's not brain surgery

If you look at Atletico and Liverpool's performances last season the 'we can't compete with oil money' argument doesn't really work.

Apparently, according to some on here, the team that spends the most on transfers wins the league. END OF !

Un balanced team
Very predictable "Playing our game nonsense" most of the time when ideally the team needs to adjust depending on the opposition. For instance Vermalin could have played some games in the midfield.

Yes it pretty much does - Liverpool had got hold of the best player in the league by a distance for the last 2 seasons and Raheem Sterling turned into a gem - and they STILL won nothing...

Nah. City play better attractive football.
We scored more, conceeded less than you last season.
You have to surpass that while avoiding the annual collapse around Feb/March to stand a chance to win the PL.
Above all, you need mental strength. Remember when we had to win at Goodison last season after Gerrard's slip and we did it ugly. That's one thing you still lack.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nearly all our victories were ugly last season. If anything it is City who can't grind it out, the win away at Everton was one of very few ugly victories you got. Most of the time your defence/Hart failed you.

They competed for the title on a budget though something we haven't managed to do since 07/08 which was kind of the point. I see you chose to conveniently ignore Atletico who almost won the double on a fraction of the budget of Real and Barca where there is a much larger disparity than Wenger has to deal with.
If the team with the most money always come out on top how come we've managed to finish 2nd in our Champions League group for the last 2 seasons?

t's bloody Wengers fault cause of his signing policy.

I know that no one want's a Wenger bashing on the back of a good signing but it's true imo.
He starts the season with a well structured starting 11.
Then you look at his bench and he has nothing.
Might as well not have a bench for all the dross that has sat there in the past. If we had quality in depth we might of been able to lift the title last season. But a handful of injuries left us with no one capable of turning a game around or putting one to bed half the time.

A handful out, you make that sound insignificant.

Most teams would have a problem with 5 first team players absent.
