Scary

It's scary how big Wednesday night's game is now.
If we win then we can attract better players, it looks like Hazard will come if we win, and we'll be in the group stages and then you'd hope we could get through to the knockout stages.
However, lose and our squad will probably stay the same and on today's performance that is very worrying. Even more worrying is that by the time the international break comes along we could be 8 points behind Man United and out of the champions league.

Does anyone know if we go into the Europa cup if we lose on Wednesday?
(I hope not!!!!)

Yea we get thrown into the europa cup if we get knocked out.

But remember, if we score once, Udinese have to score 3. It's not all bad And seeing Wilshere run to get his player of the year award today, means he must be fit for wednesday. Djourou will be back as well and he's good enough to form a decent partnership with the immense Vermaelan.

Nonsense. It will be even more important that we get at least 4th in the Premier league if we go out of the Champions League. You only do that with top players.

Did Saurez demand a CL club? No player does. They don't have a choice. The selling club sells their registration. This sort of nonsense smacks of an excuse that a club would make if they no intention of signing anyone.

Jenius99 has a point. Liverpool and City prove you don't need to be a champions league club to attract top players (Suarez, Tevez, Y.Toure etc etc)
You just need ambition and provide them with high wages

Our highest paid player right now, Van Persie, is probably on 75k a week. Thats nothing compared to what clubs offer players right now.

The point is that there is no way RVP will stay on that next year either. So unless UEFA introduce a wage cap, Arsenal's wage structure is history. The amount that will be LOST on possible sponsorships if we lose our perennial CL tag will be far greater than paying market rate wages.

We are not competing with City. However we are with Liverpool. We still have a higher wage bill than Liverpool. So if they can afford to spend £25m+ on a player and still pay wages commensurate, so can we.

And if Arsenal put out any such rubbish excuses we can recognise it as spin.
