A poor result yesterday but let's face it pre-season is all about building up fitness not about performances. If I remember correctly we had an awful pre season result list before we won the double.
It also does not have any effect on the managers team selection. Last years two star performers during pre season were Traore and De Bruyne. De Bruyne left after 6 months, and I'll cut my forêskin off if Traore makes more than 5 senior appearences for Chelsea.
Pre Season means nothing

Preseason is about fitness, integrating new signings and experimenting with systems. Apart from that it counts for very little in the grand scheme of things.

Such a smart move by the club this summer not leaving Europe and having games in cities that are a bus ride away from the training camp.

It was basically the youth team with a few 1st team defenders thrown in.
I only saw the last 30 mins but didn't have much going forward lots of misplaced passes but its a good learning curve.
I thought the other team were taking it very serious for a friendly got fed up with the fouls everytime we broke through the midfield it spoilt the game but I suppose the scalp of Chelsea would be a big thing for them.
Lets wait and how we play when our world cup players come into the team.

The team we played against have completed their preseason and played their first match of their new season which they won 4-1 so I don't see it as a poor result at all considering the team we put out and that we are beginning our pre-season.

I think it is also about not having one of your "starters" getting injured. Pre-season games hopefully, at best, might expose a potential surprise new starter.

Pre season means every thing to the young players, its there chance to shine .
Its definitely not the place to judge the squad , its about gradually building up fitness and the plan, what ever it may be for the new season.
