The club obviously wanted to check out his condition themselves and make a decision if it was worth a the risk in relation to the cost. They decided it wasn't, no big deal.

But my understanding was that a hole on the heart can enlarge? It makes sense liverpool would look at the size of the hole and get a feel for if it's gotten any worse throughout his career etc..
