Joe Mason to Bolton?

According to an article in the Bolton News, Joe mason could be arriving at the macron stadium within the next couple of days. If it goes through, there are at least two other Championship clubs vying for his signature, it will be a loan transfer not a straight cash payment for the players services.

This is possibly the best way to do it as we need to know he can reproduce his form of late last season. Without the Juke, he will probably need another striker along side of him as his first spell with us wasn't great when he was playing up front by himself. Of course we wouldn't be offering to buy him in any event.

Well he's not with us yet but at if he arrives it will a good start to filling the lack of strikers. I just think we will need to bring someone else in. Whether it will be before the season kicks off, I wouldn't want to put some money on.

Here is the article.

Wanderers working hard to seal Mason return from Cardiff City Updated 8:47am Wednesday 30th July 2014 in Latest By Marc Iles Wanderers working hard to seal Mason return from Cardiff City
Dougie Freedman has waited patiently all summer for the Welsh club to decide whether they were going to send the 23-year-old out for first team football. Sources close to the Bluebirds say his move could go through in the next couple of days. But the deal is by no means complete, with at least two other Championship clubs believed to be in the reckoning for the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international. Mason made 16 appearances for the Whites last season in two loan spells, scoring six goals. Cardiff have already signed three strikers this summer in Javi Guerra, Frederico Macheda and Adam Le Fondre and also have the likes of Kenwyne Jones and Nicky Maynard in their ranks.

Parachute money is 4 years, 2x £16m 2x £8m..

Next season is last. Deffo right to lose the Barclays debt ASAP.

We didn't lose the Barclays debt it was called in by the bank in accordance with the terms and conditions. Some might say it was due the bank having the feeling it was being abused and some liberty was being taken by the debtor

So we had no option to to pay it.

According to Mrs. SWIE, Dougie was on Granada reports last night saying he was hoping to sign three strikers before the season starts. He had better get a move on. Mind you, I can't confirm that she got that right although has has been spouting similar comments in The Bolton News. We will see.

This mornings Bolton news Tom eaves & Cian Bolger are to be sold with sell on clauses in there contracts.
At least we are trying to get some of the money we have spent back, If they ever come good.!!!!!!

It makes a change trying to claw something back for players.

Unfortunately Eaves was bought and has never really forced himself into a position where he could be elevated to the the first team. I fear we will not get anything out that one but you never know.

According to Dougie, (on Eaves), Wilkinson has put himself in a better position to be breaking through and so will use him rather than Eaves.

Bolger looked decent in pre-season, though the drink taken may have clouded my judgement, so that one surprises me.

We all drink Trotter but some like me only drink pure unadulterated water.

Fair enough freedman did not fancy eaves. Bolger though is a strange one. Only been here a season and half. Sent out on loan, got injured had no chance to impress. Surely should be sent on loan again to see how he does before cutting ties with the lad completely. I've not seen him play drunk or sober so I don't know how good or bad he is.

Bolger and Wilkinson will go the same way as Josh vela all washed up by twenty-five.

Hi Nuns, an interesting comment, particularly on Wilkinson, I'm interested in finding out why you think that. I
s it because you don't think he's good enough or that he won't get the game time or something else? He has done well in pre-season so i for one am hoping he will get a chance in the Championship.

I don't mean this to be condescending but I'm sure you know a lot more about the players than I do.
