paid late, not the same thing.
Im sure he's not exactly short of a few quid.

I wouldn't take a job where I'd be getting paid late regularly. Nobody would. Even the top execs into industry who are on £25m a year wouldn't.. Why should people with money have to settle for not getting paid on time?

Somehow normal rules do not apply to footballers. Why would I take a job if I was not sure I would get paid when I am supposed to get paid

The day my employer is late with my wages, I walk, we have a contract which says you shall pay me on a particular day of the month. If you break that contract, then I walk until I'm paid.
A lot of people look at it from the money aspect but it is a principle actually.

Nonsense.
If he wants to play football he will play football in our reserves and get paid regularly for the final year of his contract or until he finds a team that can guarantee him regular pay on time.

If I had his inury problems then yes and his bank account and playing football? then yes i would.
Onuha did just that
Give it a years time and he's not gonna have a lot of choices anyway to be honest.

Stretty, considering his injury problems, he's got to make sure he has money as his career could peter out. I think that is why he is worried about the finances

Maybe Thorpe just isn't rated the highly? He's 21 now, a year younger than Phil Jones, yet his professional career consists of 6 apps on loan at Birmingham.

Looks that way Dazza
Have to say though that Blackett is grabbing his opportunity with both hands
