Wenger's tactical nous ???

Wenger picked the wrong players tonight. He should have played Per instead of Chambers (who did have a good game but he should not be blooded in such important games). He should also have started with Rosicky instead of Cazorla who had an absolute shocker and not for the first time.

What does Campbell have to do to get some game time? It was obvious that Giroud was having a mare. Any other manager would have subbed him off at half time or 60 mins in and replaced him with Campbell.

My feeling is that Campbell will not play until after the transfer window closes in case we need to sell/loan him as part of a transfer deal. Otherwise there is no logical explanation for not bringing him on for Giroud.

Where is the tactical nous ? Subs all wrong and at the wrong time. Wenger never seems able to change things/ shake things up. Why not try Ox campbell sanchez in the same team when plan A was not working? Or Ox Campbell Rosicky?

Yes I know we got a nil nil.but it was against a poor team in a match we should have won with a bit more cunning and not having to play the ref, who was also shocking.

His tactics were wrong but most of the reason we were so bad is because we effectively played with 10 men (then 9 men). Chambers was fine so don't see why we need to rush Per back. Campbell is not a number 9 and doubt he is the answer. Chamberlain should have come on for Cazorla, no idea why Alexis went off. Hopefully he isn't injured.

Wenger is probably very happy coming away with a draw, most of us would have taken a draw pre match, they will be easy to overcome at the Emirates,so the £25 mil earned by reaching group stages of the Champions league looks pretty safe.

so the man who managed to finish forth with Denilson, NB, Ade, almunia .... knows nothing about tactics.

fact of the matter is AW sees the players in training, knows more about their physical and mental condition and we dont.

it is easy for the fans to make intelligent sounding criticisms of the teams selection and tactics but none of us have successfully managed football club before.

finally, it is easy to question player who is in bad form and turn around and praise AW when they sort out their form

this is not to say that all the criticism is wrong.

Exactly.

Look at his record in Europe where the playing field requires your manager to be tactically astute and not just out-think the brilliance of Harry Redknapp, Peter Reid and Paul Jewell, and that tells you everything about just what a poor match day tactition the man is, always has been and always will be.

this is just silly. the Arsenal squads under AW have always punched above their weight over the years both in the League and in the CL.

Campbell id like to see given a chance, pre season and the bits I've he looks a decent finisher, and similar to alexis he puts in a shift and hassles defences. I think there's a question over his fitness and thats why he hasn't played, at the end of the world cup he looked dead on his feet.
