transfer fee question

When a player is told he has no future at a club, isnt it supposed to reduce any fee you pay for his services?
I mean, surely, that player has just been told he doesnt fit into the squad, so by definition, is not good enough!
This is a general question as i know the reason we massively overpaid on carroll was because they DIDNT want to sell, which kind of makes sense.
thoughts?

Lucas

This is always going to depend on two things.

1. How good the player is

2. How much the buying team really want the player.

For example, we have quite a few players that we need to sell but only one or two of them will command a decent fee, unless someone wants them badly enough.

Yes. Di Maria is better than Rodriguez.
Di Maria is a proven world class player. Whereas Rodriguez is still a big talent in the mould of a Hazard. Has some way to go before he reaches the Argentine's level.

Don't let that get in the way of your bitterness though. If a team that finished 7th were able to pull a player of that calibre ahead of my team who finished 2nd, I'd be jealous too. Especially when we're just signing the likes of Lallana and Lambert.

dubbed you need to get out more lad.

I doubt any red would swap our transfer dealing this year for uniteds just like no united fans would swap theirs (assuming Di Maria signs) for ours.

We've addressed huge gaps in our sqaud and now are signing a very good striker which we badly needed. Yes our first 11 is weaker without Luis but Balotelli goes along way to making it stronger.

Funny you try to say we're bitter here Engage that brain eh....

Why of course you wouldn't. Haha You lot would love to have a player of Di Maria's level. Thing is they're not looking your way.

Even rubbish little United are able to sign these guys. Must hurt seeing that.

Just goes to show no serious player takes your joke of a club seriously. Enjoy the average and unwanted players of this world.

I don't think he is the type of striker you need.

I think he is far to similar to sturridge.

Di Maria is a fantastic player and United will have done well to land him, even if Real have got them over a barrel. Such is the desperation that Untied now find themselves, and that is not a cheap wum. Unlike us, they can afford to spend big and get themselves back up.

But DI Maria is like every other player; he needs support, he needs top class supplies of balls. That where I think United may struggle.

and you call us bitter do you actually read your posts?

We know we wont be getting Di Maria, we can't afford to spend 60 million on a player we already have players in his position for.

No doubt Di Maria is a step up on what we have but we have good players in his position in Sterling and hopefully Markovic, we couldn't afford to take his wages and signing on fee.

It's basic economics you absolute m.o.n.g and this summer for us was about addressing the gaps in the squad.

It's chalk and fúcking cheese you dope.

Don't know VC, he is more like Studge then Suarez was but Balotelli has parts to his game Studge doesn't.

He's a big physical presense and holds the bal lup very well, Studge also holds it up well but he's not as strong as Balotelli.

Also Balotelli is good in the air something which Studge is weak at. Studge plays off the shoulder of the last defender and is quicker then Balotelli.

I see you point but we needed a good striker and nit being able to spend 40 plus million on one he's the best player we were going to get.

Bitterness? I dislike Man U more than any other club out there. Just keeping it real.

Yeah. You were so "stacked" in that position that you went for a similar player to what you have in Sanchez. And we all know how that panned out. That's when you had to settle for the likes of Markovic.

Face it chimp boy. I know that it hurts. But if you could sign a world class player, you would have a long time. They're just not looking your way. Ouch.

Chimp boy could be racist there lad.

But anyway we were never going to even try get di Maria cause we don't have that kind of money to spend, what part of this don't you understand?

We wanted Sanchez but he choose Arsenal, fair play excellent signing, you'd expect to find it difficult to sign these elite players when we've been out of the CL for 5 years and this is only our first year back.

See you think I'm devastated about a player we were never in for going to united, I'm not as I'm more then happy (like all reds) with our business this summer.

Unlike you I don't define my support through hated of another club, I love Liverpool I don't hate united or another club, I know you won't be able to comprehend this as your above comments (I quote "I hate united" more then demonstrate you take some sort of victory in united signing a top player that we couldn't and weren't in for.

We could have tried to sign some elite player by throwing a huge transfer fee and massive wages we can't afford but that goes against the modle the club have in place and could jepordize us financially, we know first hand what using cash the club doesn't have can do to a club, we nearly went bankrupt.

You try to laugh off Markovic but you know nothing about the lad, he's another young player with huge potential, these are the type of players we are targeting for the most part.

Funny how a tiny club who has no elite players can finish above Arsenal, must be our exceptional manager I guess....... awaits no CL / Suarez reply ya absolute m.o.n.g
