IT'S DRAFT DAYYYYYYY!!!
To celebrate this most joyous occasion, how will you be getting in the (red) zone?
I have a free day today, so I will be -
Watching the Kevin Costner film 'Draft Day'
Possibly making time for another footbawwww related film, 'Any Given Sunday' probably.
Running a few last minute drafts and making sure my cheat sheet is up to date, whilst having 'Blue Mountain State' on in the background.
At around 7/8, I'm going to start drinking the most American, lightest beer I can find (Coors no doubt)
Then I'm going to slip my Seahawks jersey on, eat a pizza, and sit at my screen until 9.30 when we find out draft order (Is that right? Is it emailed to us?!?)
Then I'm going to freak out because I have the number 1 pick, curse you all, and panic.
Great day!!!
Things to do on draft day....

I too watched Draft Day a few weeks ago.
I started with a cheat sheet about a month ago, but through mocks and proper drafts, i realised there is little to no point.
The first 10 rounds really do pick themselves, then the remaining rounds ill use to handcuff, pick up someone that has inexplicably fallen so low,2 rounds to fill the starting team and a last round flyer.
Thats my tactic. No mind games. If I see my team is going the way I want it to after 4/5 rounds, ill handcuff most/all the studs and wait for everyone's players to get injured.
I really do not want a first half pick. 6 and later for me, ideally 7th or 8th. Statistically, my 7th and 8th round teams come out to be my strongest on paper- schedule, projected and by pure logic- by between 9% and 16%. My weakest picks are 2nd, with 2nd weakest being 4th. All this presumes healthy seasons. I have done 42 mock drafts and have 3 proper drafted teams, so my "pool" is 45 10 team drafts. I have done more 8 and 12 teamers in case they were needed if we have more or fewer members in our league.

You know I've really not focused on a handcuff tactic. I know the obvious, but possibly naively of me I've focused on bench depth instead. Basically I'm running on the assumption that no one at all will get injured even a little bit!

It's less important who you pick, and more important what order in which you prioritise your positions.

also, a majority of teams that won nfl leagues last season had at least 2 players they either picked up after the 14th round or off waivers... and i dont mean in the roster, i mean in the starting lineup...
zac stacy and the chiefs d/st were 2 of the most popular ones
