'Giroud is getting better every year'

What were people expecting from Wenger? If anything at all, Wenger has shown once again how you talk about your players to the press. If Wenger can defend the likes of Denilson, Squillaci, Traore and Cygan before eventually shipping them out, how much more Giroud?

Any half sensible manager knows that you never, ever, demean your players publicly. Whether it's Sanogo or Podolski, Wenger will always protect his players publicly. Yes, we all know our strikers are mid-table starters at best, but we just have to go with the choice of the gaffer until something more tangible materializes.

Going after Saurez last season alone makes it clear Wenger is not 100% satisfied with what we have upfront. I won't be surprised to see another Striker come in before the window closes. And if that doesn't happen, I just have to believe that Alexis Sanchez is just buying time to find his feet and would soon become the number one striker for us.
