I've had enough of some of our own fans as well as the Gooners criticising young Danny. He's a player that was/is held in high regards at United, but has unfortunately failed to get a handful of games under his belt. I even had my doubts over him at one stage, but he is a better player than I thought.
In the PL, players are criticised too early and also praised too quickly, there is no medium. The only problem Danny has is he was hardly player in his regular position regularly which hasn't really helped his finishing as well as his development. I've come across few a Arsenal fans slating him, the lad possesses legitimate pace. That's a quality Arsenal need in attack for goodness sake!
In my eyes, Welbeck will go onto be a future star for Arsenal as he has the profile to fit into Wenger’s style of play. I understand Arsenal fans are worried about whether or not he's going to be a striker that bangs in 25+ goals, but they have probably signed a striker who in three years’ time is going to become the best striker in England.

Is it me or has our board gone massively down hill in the last few months? Most of the good posters have gone to be replaced with immature aggressive plastics.

Your right Chamack, we're being overrun with Fantasy football teenagers on our forum on a daily basis.

To be honest i was surprised you let him go, he is the sort of player you need about a club
Will he be a superstar, probably not but he could have given you ten years good service as part of the squad covering injuries, used in rotation, impact from the bench and starting here and their.
He could have been your Pedro, not the best in the squad but knows the place inside out, love it, gives it everything he has.
I genuinely think youth graduates like that a worth their weight in gold and Utd have a history of them with Phil Nev, Butt, O'Shea, Brown, Ole and Fletcher (prime).
They were not the best and wouldn't be in the starting line up if everyone was fit but they are excellent back up players to have and you knew you would get 100% commitment from them. They also generally cost nothing or are very cheap to buy and don't cost that much in wages.
A successful squad is almost never built out of WC player, it needs guys like Welbeck.

Lets not get to far ahead of ourselves in overrating Welbeck just yet.He is still very much capable of the stupid just as he is capable of doing some good things.

Good article, I am tired of the pathetic fans (mainly Arsenal) who instead of supporting their players/team they criticise and are negative. What sort of supporter is that?
Knowing some Arsenal fans they will boo the poor lad.

Rich coming from you.

I think Welbeck would go on to do a good job for Arsenal. I wasn't keen on seeing him sold but with Falcao coming in, he wasn't going to get a look in.
