Progress

before progress: it sshit to go into the season yet again short of 2 players from competing for the title no one denies that

we are not there yet but there are signs that we are making progress

we broke transfer record twice, maybe more
we bought players with PL experience
we paid good money for Chambers, remember the penny pinching
we improved the height and pace of our team
we bought established players even if we had to pay more because of that
we bought players who fit the system and improve the system
we bought from a rival, they are regretting it now (remember that feeling)
the negativity is about not buying players rather than selling our best players to rivals
we have secured the our best players on long term contracts (let's see how theo gets on first)
we sold a good player who was sat on our bench to Barca seeking first team action, a defender (will sit on their bench, no change there)
we are 5th in net spending in the last 5 years:
14/13 = 63
13/12 =33
12/13 = 7
11/12 = -16
10/11 = -2 and our only signing was Squillaci and we lost Hleb, Flamini, Gilberto Silva 6 months after losing LAS and that makes the meltdown on sept 1 look pathetic

we have a net spending more than spurs every single year in the last five years
to compare spurs had 3rd highest gross spending for the 5 years before 2011/2012 and Arsenal were 9th, so fourth on the spending market is a trophy im afraid
