Wolves sit well placed in the league with 13 points from 6 games and an eye catching goals record of 6 scored and 2 conceded. So as last season the 4-2-3-1 formation makes us a hard team to break down but will we score enough goals?
Kenny Jackett has recognised the need to bring another striker in but we weren't willing to pay what was necessary for Callum Wilson or Delors and not able to tie up a deal for other targets. And with Nigel Pearson now saying there is no way he will let Chris Wood leave Leicester on loan we are running out of options unless we go for Danny Graham.
Can we trust Leon who did nothing again as a sub on Saturday, or give McAlinden a chance as the main cover? And is there now also a question mark about whether Dicko will get goals at this level?
One way or another it does look as though our ability to stay in a strong league position may be hindered if we can't bring in another striker to give competition and genuine cover. But who?
Give us a striker

danny ings, although possibly not until the January window
out of contract at the end of this season, probably not good enough for any premier league clubs to sign, proven goal scorer in the championship.
burnley may be forced to take whatever they can get for him if their position doesn't improve. and he'll see a quick return to the championship if he sticks with burnley anyway.
before that, Wilson from man utd would be interesting, but not one we could hope to sign on a permanent deal after the loan. like a few others I would be keen for us to go after a strong target man to give us an alternative.
we should remember that we had a spell last season where we were getting a lot of shots in but very few on target. then our forward players clicked and we became a lot more clinical. I think jacobs, henry, sako and eventually RVLP all have goals in them but jacobs showed how rusty he was against blackpool and RVLP is trying just a little too hard right now. no panic from me for a striker but I do think if we want to be top 6 by the end of the season we are going to have to find a couple of men to score us 20+

No, I've never heard of him either.

I’d be surprised if we do anything before the end of the month, I think we’ll wait until the 93 day limit will take in the Christmas games.

Fletcher has played in less than half of Sunderland's games since he has been there

Is that through injury DJ, or just not considered good enough? He was scoring quite freely when he first went there wasnt he?

Fletcher is a bit of a sick note. Gets injured easy and finds recovering hard. Most of his absences down to not being available rather than not being selected.
Add to that he's as big a mentalist as Leigh Griffiths and I'm going to guess wolves don't have him as number one target.
