Still can't work out why the Gooners felt the need to boo Cesc. We've all heard how he was keen to go back but Wenger didn't want him - so why don't they boo Wenger instead?
The article below sums up their attitude. It's completely alien to me and I simply can't understand it. Yes, I was gutted when Frank scored against us, but I didn't and wouldn't boo him for it - the club let him go, so we've made our bed.
Cesc even made an attempt to justify their actions - saying he knows that they love him really, despite the vile vitriol they spout and the constant booing and yet this just makes them rage even more. Is it spoilt child syndrome? Seller's remorse?? The guy was a legend for Arsenal and wanted to come back, showing them utmost respect, but they said no and are now regretting it. All I can say is it seems very odd to me.

Booing Cesc

If he had of joined Stoke would there have been so much hatred towards him? Probably not. It must be because he’s joining a direct rival but that’s not his fault..

Who's fault is it then? Mine?
Wenger should have snapped Cesc up, he's better than what they have, but it was still up to Cesc to join Chelsea.
They do this with every player who leaves them. They did it with RVP. They were calling him a rapist though-out the game, then kicked up a fuss when he celebrated his goal.

Rams
Chelsea was most likely big biggest club that were interested in him, Which is why he joined... Do you expect him to join AC Milan/PSG in poor leagues? Ofcourse he wants to test himself back in the PL.

He should have come to United.

Its an Arsenal thing. I'll never understand it. Its an illogical thing to do given the circumstances to him joining us. Bitterness clouding sense I guess.

It's not completely ridiculous. He stated on numerous occasions while forcing his move to Barcelona that he'd only ever play for those two clubs, which was supposed to soften the hit for the fans (i.e. I love Arsenal but Barcelona's always been the dream, similar to Ronaldo with Real). You can understand some of their fans taking exception to him joining us of all the places he could've gone after declarations like that.
I do believe him when he says Arsenal are still close to his heart, but in signing for us while in the prime of his career he had to know it would hurt Arsenal emotionally and literarily in the title race. Somehow I couldn't envision Henry signing for us in the same circumstances.

Yup, but what can he do when the only two clubs he really wants to play for don't want him? Barca chucked him out of their bandwagon and Arsene stepped aside. What did they expect? That he'd just take the hit and retire?!
As I said above, I could (and would) sympathise with the anger if Wenger had tried to sign him and Cesc had snubbed Arsenal, but the guy was left with little/no choice. The only other major English club in for him was Man United (allegedly) - and that would have left him in the same situation in terms of treatment.

He would've had more options than us, probably not better ones in terms of matching his ambitions, but they would've been on the table and matched our offer financially.
Basically he put his ambitions before his love for Arsenal. Nothing wrong with him doing that, also nothing wrong with those who'd feel hurt by that after such declarations.

Put it this way. Next summer Ronaldo signs for Man City after United turn down the chance to re-sign him. Would you honesty expect United not to harbour any ill feeling towards him for that decision?
