Prices

Interesting article on the BBC about rise of ticket prices compared to inflation: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29627241

Make the point that prices have increased 13% since 2011, while inflation has been 6.8%

Do you think these rising rates will eventually put people off? I know that I go to a lot less games than I did 5 years ago. Combined with travelling from Manc, it's just too bloody expensive.

It's a shame today's kids won't know the pleasure of turning up at the ground and paying cash (around £1.50 when I first started frequenting the Trent End)
---------------------------
I distinctly remember queuing up on the banks of the Trent with my dad in the early/mid 70's

It was the first time I'd seen this weird contraption called a turnstile - it seemed all very hi-tech and archaic at the same time. It cost me 25p as a juvenile to get in the ground, and a paying adult was 75p

Great memories

Rev i loved those days, My first ever season ticket cost £13.50 for that i saw us win the league one title for the first and only time, not loose an home game for ages ( can't be asred to look how long ) attend Sammy Chapman and Liam o'kane testimonial, the list goes on . How lucky have i been, but i have always said playing good football and winning in any game whatever division will do for me. i want entertainment and commitment for my money.
don't care what division it's in

The fans need to decide what is important to them as paying members of the club. And ask the senior management team at the club to implement (where appropriate) there wishes

Got my first season met the season Forest made the League and Simod Cup finals in 1989. Worked out at about £2.50 a game or so, I think. Can only get similar value in the Bundesliga these days. The English leagues should hang their heads in shame at how poor the comparison is between them and the Germans and othe European leagues these days when it come so value for money. All the guff about the Premier League being the greatest in the world doesn't hold up to any kind of real scrutiny either.

Chairman know how strong the emotional ties between fan and club are and know it would take a lot to break them so they keep hoping the price of football steadily in the knowledge that they are unlikely to lose too many "customers".

Quite a few clubs in the EPL feel their other revenue is sufficient enough to actually have lower prices that a number at our level and even below. I guess where you are talking Barcelona and Real Madrid etc that's even more the case, ticket monies is a drop in the ocean to them.

This is another reason why I think FFP is going to create bigger divides and for clubs like ours, will end the possibility of more affordable ticketing.

Whilst I hope Derby win promotion this season, it's a weird split that, in reality, watching a successful Championship side is, and will still be, far more enjoyable and more affordable than the Premiership.

The Premiership is a total distortion of the sporting principle that should be operating within football. And the problem is totally clear. Too much money given to too few clubs. BSkyB and BT funding should be spread much more evenly over the whole of the divisions. The lure of many tens of millions persuades rich men and oligarchs to corrupt our game and take teams away from the true supporters.

Can't argue with that Ramdini. It's strange to be playing for a prize that may be bittersweet for the winners.
