WHL pitch size

Following on from an earlier article I wanted to discuss Tottenhams pitch size. Its clear to see that most teams that visit White Hart Lane have a clear strategy to play against us. Tactics: Play compact, defend in numbers, and slow the game down. Thus frustrate the crowd and in turn heap more pressure on the team. This is particularly true of teams who are on paper inferior to us and we are supposedly meant to beat.

How many times in the last 3-4 years have we seen teams park the bus and then hit us on the counter? We look lost, predictable and unable to break teams down.

I think one practical way we could improve our stagnant home form is to readjust our pitch size. White Hart Lane has one of the smallest dimensions in the PL. In season 2013-14 White Hart Lane came 19th out of 20 in terms of pitch size. Tottenham fans demand open and expressive football so let's give the team the stage to do so. A few more feet added to the length and width could allow us more room to create and break down the average sides who seem to frustrate us. A 1-0 loss could turn into a 1-1 or 2-1 victory.

There is no guarantee new players we sign will be an instant success or that our coach will pick the right team but a larger pitch may help us break down teams at White Hart Lane.

Just to add, this is by know means making excuses for our below par performances and weak mentality. I just think we need to give the team any small advantage we can. I also completely back Pochetino and don't like to see individual players used as a scapegoat.

Feck the size of the pitch. I have seen Spurs win the league on it, and have some of their greatest ever European nights on it. It is a feeble excuse.
