As people keep questioning why he isn't getting a chance, I thought I'd give my opinion and ask for that of others.
I'll start by saying I rate Pato, and think that in the the future he could be a very good player.
But. He had a run of five or six cracking games last season, and after that he disappeared and didn't do a great deal. Pearce has already proven that he will give youth a chance when it's deserved, so I don't fully understand why people are questioning his decision in this instance. Pato isn't in the team because he isn't doing enough to warrant it. Even Pato has come out and said he understands it.
So that's how I see it - Pato is one for the future who will get his chance when he deserves it. In Ince, Antonio, and Burke we have better players who can make more of an impact. What do the rest of you think?
Jamie Paterson

Even with three defenders you have no room for Burke? Honestly don't think Lans deserves a game at the minute.

I'm not really serious, we'd get boned down the wings. Defenders would get pulled wide leave Holt with space in the box

It's likely to be 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 again, I'm not sure how he'd fit Ince in straight away as would be harsh to drop Burke or Antonio. I guess he could play him just behind Brit in the 4-5-1

4-4-2 for me

Pato has plenty of time on his side. He will get his chance at some point, probably in the New Year when injuries and suspensions kick in. He needs to keep making a positive impression on Pearce. The signing of Ince should be seen as a challenge for the likes of Patterson to raise their game and force their way into the manager's thinking.
Huddersfield are on a good run at the moment and will anticipate Pearce coming and packing the midfield in an attempt to stifle a quick and positive start from them. Could try and surprise them and go more positive but are the players confident enough?

Paul Taylor's take on the Ince signing
Pearce has always said that it is about bringing in players who will add to the team; who will play on a regular basis. Ince fits into that category - the simple fact is that Forest have not found anyone who fits into that category in central midfield, yet.

Looks like Vaughan and Ince then? Tesche has done well but it is due a break as he has faded a bit late on in mayches of late. Will hopefully be the challenge that Lansbury needs to up his game too.

I can't see him dropping Tesche Will. It'll be 4-5-1 I think with Ince or Fryatt playing just off Britt.

Maybe. Ince and Vaughan may be a little too lightweight on reflection.
