Well Nigel, what you waiting for???

Leicester City striker Martyn Waghorn has told manager Sven-Goran Eriksson he wants to leave the club.

Eriksson said last night he will grant him his wish after the 22-year-old was omitted from the squad for the 4-2 Carling Cup win at Bury at Gigg Lane.

He can leave on a free? we got told Leicester wanted over a £1 million for him, hmmm?

Anyway, next time we get a problematic Referee, how about adopting these tactics?

For those who can't see SDS's link, here you go.....

iwas, if that were true, why didnt they just do what the 3 amigos have done, or QPR's previous owners? Whether the money came from their pockets or not, it couldve quite easily gone into their pockets, but it didnt, it went on players. This sounds too far fetched and too much like trouble-causing to me. I cannot believe for one minute that Nigel would stand for it either. Why ruin your reputation in football, and probably never get another job for the sake of protecting people with no true love for the club?

Two current senior Derby coaches told me about the reduction in transfer budget. I have no reason to lie to you about that.
They are all peed off about it and they had to cancel talks with the type of players Glick promised to bring in.

On holiday now and going for a swim.

i heard a senior coach told my mate that money is there but Nigel is reluctant to ruin the 'spirit and togetherness' like he did bringing Luke Moore in last season, so will wait til January, but use loans in between.

Mostyn, just please enlighten my confused little head,as to who are the fringe players you mean when you talk about our summer signings??

igor, maybe my labelling "fringe players" is a little unfair. Perhaps what I should say is "players that arent as necessary/needed as players we now cannot afford!"

Wages will be tied up in players such as Riggott, Legezidisndis??, Maguire, Robinson when we didnt really need any of these, when we had Anderson, Leacock, Buxton, Ball, Atkins, Deeney, etc etc etc waiting in the wings for an emergency.

Or just maybe they are better.

Seems to me that Eustace and Waghorn were very near the top of Clough's shopping list. The signings of other players on his list, such as Bryson, Maguire, Tyson were relatively easily accomplished. There would have been no point in delaying the signings of these just because the more major ones hadn't been completed.

Clough has very clearly been chasing Waghorn for quite a while. It doesn't make sense that he would have used up his entire budget without leaving some for his most expensive signing. I have a contact who tells me that the deal was agreed in principle months ago and we were only waiting for Sven to allow the transfer.

He is now available so if we don't complete the deal it can only be because another club hijacks the deal with a better offer, because Clough has changed his mind (very unlikely) or because the goalposts have moved financially. I can't believe that a much-talked about and highly-rated signing would be allowed to slip by because Bywater and Leacock can't be farmed out.

Some straight talking from the owners and Clough would be appreciated. The way Clough is talking it does indeed seem as though money which he thought was available, now isn't. Whether or not we think that Eustace and Waghorn are needed (I think both TYPES of player certainly are) it is clear that they were a key part of Clough's planned summer activity. Maybe we will continue to do well with the likes of Hendrick, but it seems more likely to me we will run out of steam at some point, and it is unfair on Clough if the parameters for management have been altered during what has been billed as a key period for rebuilding.

Jimmy Bullard will go to the Premier League, I think someone like QPR was looking at him. I cant remember which team it is now, maybe Bolton.

Just to rectify one point, it was Paul Jewell who gave Leacock a new contract, which he justified at the time after some good performances on our return to the Championship. Clough sanctioned Bywater/Pearson's contract extensions.

I think the three senior players have been sidelined due to disappointing performances, not merely financial reasons. The lack of interest in them also indicates their currency as players has gone down.

I tend to believe Iwaslevel with regards to finance being withdrawn and MILF mentioned what happened regarding the DOF post as well. I don't think Clough is reluctant to spend money, it's just once again he has to work under financial limitations & agree with Vidal's points as well.

You can argue that he could have spent the money differently, but centre midfield & striker are two positions difficult to fill under a limited budget.
