Actially i was anoyher that siad we wetr better off to get caulker for 8 mil then lovren for 20 mil and i too got shot down. Dont wanna be smug abiut it as i would have been glad to prove me wrong.

You shouldn't be smug about it as you're as wrong now as you were then.

Caulker would have turned shi t as well, in which case you wouldn't have mentioned it. No one brings up that article where they were dead wrong you know.

If we bought Caulker we'd be shipping in goals left, right and centre and people would say why didn't we splurge for Lovren

Lovren hasn't even been poor. When we're not all out attack our defence is actually fine. It's scoring goals that's the problem.

you really must be watching a different match to everyone else...lovren is getting worse by the game.

As for us tightening up...it was sheer luck that we restricted madrid to 1 and chelsea always looked like winning the game.

The problem we have, is that without the confidence of knowing suarez and sturridge are there to cause havoc, the rest of the team is the same and playing the same way. rodgers has no plan to change it up and beat what is in front of us.
2 years in, nearly £100m spent on the defence and we quite simply cannot defend.

Watch terry and cahill from saturday...they win EVERYTHING yet our players continue to try and beat the man instead of winning the ball.

You stupid people who read caught offside must be watching a different game than those of us who know it as common knowledge that we've tightened up due to the change in tactics. For some reason you want somebody to blame and defenders are being shot down left right and centre.

However, as I said when we've played like last season all out attack we knew we'd concede goals due to the defenders being left vulnerable. If you look at Madrid or Barca, their defenders can look poor as they are also left vulnerable. However they score many goals. We were the same last season but this season haven't been able to score goals. That's why the change in system, which has worked, evidenced by the defenders performing and not your silly excuse of luck. However we haven't been able to score goals and that's why we haven't won the games.

He would be considering how vulnerable defenders have been left. I'm sure there would be a massive improvement in the past few games. In fact I only remember one error leading to a goal which was Moreno against Newcastle, since the change in system.

my bad, we are defending brilliantly and its our lousy strikers that are causing us problems.
in fact, lovren is actually the best defender in league and its only because of balotelli that everyone fails to see it
